The moral test for any society is how it treats ‘those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick; the needy and the handicapped.’
Since its inception in the year 2012, Sneha Sandhya Age Care Foundation has been serving two of these vulnerable segments namely the elderly and the terminally sick persons and their families. Our reach of service is to the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh, India.
ABOUT US
“Center for Geriatric & Palliative Care” is a philanthropic initiative of Sneha Sandhya Age Care Foundation that aspires to provide much needed health care to some of the most vulnerable sections of the society namely “The Elderly” and “The Sick” particularly those suffering from chronic and incurable illnesses.
From a humble beginning in 2012, with a meagre annual budget of a couple of lakhs and few voluntory workers, Age Care Foundation grew by leaps and bounds and is poised for a quantum jump in serving the elderly and seriously ill. The upcoming integrated center for Geriatric & Palliative Care at Gambheeram, Visakhapatnam, on land provided by Free Polio Surgical & Research Foundation will be a unique and first of its kind of health facility in Andhra Pradesh

THE NEW HORIZON
We are in the process of creating a ‘hub and spoke’ model with a central facility at Visakhapatnam, and satellite centers in the districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. The central facility will provide wide range of specialized health services which include Palliative care, Geriatric care, Dementia care, Long term care, Rehabilitative care and Respite care whereas the satellite centers will provide pain relief and palliative care.

OUR UPCOMING INTEGRATED
CENTER FOR GERIATRIC & PALLIATIVE CARE
The year 2022 is a landmark year in the journey of Age Care Foundation, as Free Polio Surgcal & Research Foundation has provided one acre of land in Visakhapatnam to establish and run a fully integrated center for Geriatric & Palliative care, the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh. This upcoming project will open new vistas of care and scale up Age Care Foundation’s services manifold.
The center along with its out-reach services is projected to serve people not only from the city of Visakhapatnam but also from the adjoining districts. The hospital is aimed at serving the unmet needs of the community and will be run on a not for profit basis. Age Care Foundation’s existing network of doctors, nuses, volunteers and social workers will continue to serve the community frm the new facility.
